OffCourt Review

After spending a week with a few products from OffCourt, I’m hooked.

From their facial hydrator to their lineup of intoxicating body sprays, the lineup that OffCourt has put together is head and shoulders above the competition.

In this review, I want to share all aspects of the OffCourt product lineup, including packaging, performance, and even a short demonstration of how well they work.

Let’s begin.

Packaging

First, the packaging is well done.

Here’s what was included in our package:

As you can see, each of the body sprays is individually wrapped, including the OffCourt and Dogpound collaborative body spray, along with the facial hydrator.  This packaging should help prevent damage or leakage during shipping.

Next up is a closer look at each of the labels on all of the products.  This can be helpful if you have sensitive skin or like to look over the ingredients, country of origin, etc., before making a purchase.

First, the facial hydrator:

Next up, the body sprays. To not flood your screen with over ten pictures of essentially the same product, we’ll just take a closer look at the Fresh Citron + Driftwood body spray:

We want to bring your attention to a few crucial details about the products pictured above.

Facial Hydrator

• This is a protein-based oil-free moisturizer that you should apply after working out and showering.
• The 2oz. size makes it easy to store in your favorite toiletry bag or gym bag.
• The base ingredients responsible for the heavy-lifting include creatine, whey protein, and vitamin C.  Additionally, you’ll find menthyl ethylamido oxalate, which provides a pleasant cooling sensation, especially nice when applied post-workout.
• This moisturizer also contains prebiotics which helps to keep your skin toned and younger-looking while also preventing odor.  You’ll often find prebiotics in premium face moisturizers, including Revision Skincare, La Roche-Posay, and more.
• This face moisturizer was made in the USA.
• The tamper-proof seal was also nice to see.

Body Spray

• The spray is versatile and can be worn as a deodorant or body spray.
• Containing prebiotics, like a good natural deodorant, this body spray will neutralize any foul-smelling body odor.  Additionally, the spray is also aluminum-free.
• The fragrances that OffCourt makes are gender-neutral, making them great for sharing.
• At 3.4oz, it is right at the limit for being TSA-approved.  Perfect if you frequently travel for pleasure or work.  Additionally, the small size makes it an excellent companion to bring to your gym.
• The body spray is made in the USA.

Hopefully, the above gave you a good idea of what to expect regarding some of the specifications.  Now, let’s take a look at how the OffCourt products perform.

Performance

It’s one thing to have good packaging and nice design, but it’s another to perform well.  

To put the products to the test, I went ahead and did a 45-minute spin class on the Peloton (#TeamWilpers!).  

After all, this should be used as a post-workout regimen, right?!

Here’s how the products stood up to the test:

Facial Hydrator

Here’s a look at my skin after showering and applying the facial hydrator:

The moisturizer is hardly noticeable, and I think that’s a good thing.  To demonstrate just how clear it goes on, here’s a closeup of the moisturizer on my finger:

And here’s how it looks when spread across the surface of the skin:

Lastly, just for completeness, here’s a short video to demonstrate (note: this was two days later after another workout):

As you can see, the facial hydrator goes on clear and thin.

Now as far as the textual difference in the face, I do notice that the hydrator does a great job of erasing fine lines and wrinkles without making the skin feel firm or tight.  

Additionally, the inclusion of menthol into the facial moisturizer provides a pleasantly bright and cool feeling to the skin’s surface, making it extremely nice after just working out.

Body Spray

So for the body spray aspect of this review, I’m going to break it down into a few different subsections.  I think this will be a bit easier to communicate with you all aspects of the body spray.

Fragrance

The body spray is available in three different fragrances, which include the following:

• Coconut Water and Sandalwood
• Fig Leaves and White Musk
• Fresh Citron and Driftwood

I found all the body sprays to be quite pleasant to wear.  They have a nice full-bodied aroma that overall skews pretty clean and fresh.

When applying it to my armpits and chest, the fragrance was noticeable from morning to evening without ever smelling overpowering or offputting in any way.  As someone who commonly gets headaches from some strong colognes, the sprays didn’t bother me at all.

Lastly, OffCourt markets the Dogpound performance body spray as being gender-neutral.  I think this might be a bit of a stretch.  I double-checked with a female colleague, and she said, while it smells nice, she wouldn’t wear it.  

Odor and Sweat Control

So when it comes to the odor and sweat control of the spray, it’s essential to set the appropriate expectations, mainly depending on the current deodorant or antiperspirant you are using in your grooming regimen.

First, this is not an antiperspirant. Therefore, you should still expect to sweat under your armpits during strenuous activities.  However, this probably won’t be an issue for you in most cases as the spray is intended to be applied after working out.

Additionally, this spray contains prebiotics.  Prebiotics help to neutralize the foul-smelling odor caused by bacteria.  When testing the body sprays, the only time I noticed any foul smells was the morning after a full day application, which honestly, I thought was fairly good for a standard deodorant.

Spray Performance and Wetness

This is a no-holds-barred spray.  The spray radius is massive, and you’ll only need to apply it for a couple of seconds at most.

Secondly, this spray goes on wet.  This may be a bit of a surprise for some men who may use a dry spray antiperspirant.  

I found that after applying the spray to the armpits and chest, about a minute later, my skin was dry to the touch.  Therefore, I recommend that you apply the spray and wait before tossing on your undershirt.

Granted, it was fairly close to the skin’s surface, but it should hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect.

Final Thoughts

If you lead an active lifestyle and are looking for a few new grooming products to use after working out, I think you’ll like the products that OffCourt makes.  Their facial hydrator goes on light and provides a refreshing and crisp finish while erasing fine lines and wrinkles.

While the scent of any grooming product is highly subjective, all the body sprays smelled light and pleasant. As a result, they are highly versatile as both a deodorant and a cologne.

Ultimately, OffCourt is a promising startup that I think will be around for quite some time if they keep turning out products of this caliber.  They get our stamp of approval.
