With so many aftershaves on the market, it can be tough to know which one is right for you. If you’ve got sensitive skin, you’ll want to steer clear of anything with harsh chemicals or fragrances. But what about other skin types? Do you guys have any favorite aftershaves for normal, dry, or oily skin? How do you decide which one to use?
I’ve been testing different aftershaves since getting into wet shaving last year, and I found that balms work amazingly well for my slightly dry skin. The Art of Shaving balm with shea butter has been my go-to - it’s really nourishing without being greasy.
If you have oily skin, you might want to try lighter gels instead of heavy balms. I have a buddy who swears by Baxter of California because it’s got tea tree oil and doesn’t make his face feel greasy. Just remember to patch test whatever you pick - learned that one the hard way!
Let me know what type of skin you’re dealing with and I can share more specific recommendations from my experiments
Balms are def the way to go for sensitive skin! You could also try aloe vera-based options for soothing benefits. For oily skin, lighter gels can work, but be wary of alcohol. Patch testing is a must—sensitivity can vary a lot between skin types.
