Hey all! I have pretty dry and sensitive skin, and I’m always on the lookout for products that can help. I’ve been using Aveeno’s Therapeutic Shave Gel, and it seems to be working well so far. However, I’m curious if anyone else with dry skin has tried it and can vouch for its effectiveness. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Aveeno’s Therapeutic Shave Gel is a solid choice for dry and sensitive skin, but i’ve heard good things about Eos Sensitive Skin Shave Cream too. It’s got shea butter and colloidal oatmeal, which are great for hydrating and soothing. Another one to try is Flamingo Foaming Shave Gel, it’s super creamy and helps prevent irritation. Everyone’s skin is a bit different though, so testing a couple might help you find the perfect fit.
RoryRover brings up a good point about trying different products to see what works best for your specific skin type. If you’re looking for cost-effective options that still deliver on performance, you might want to consider Vanicream Shave Cream. It’s free of alcohol, fragrance, dyes, and parabens, making it a great choice for sensitive skin. It’s also more affordable compared to some of the other options out there, which is a plus if you’re trying to stick to a budget.
Another affordable and highly recommended option is Barbasol Sensitive Skin Thick & Rich Shaving Cream. It contains aloe and thyme extracts, which can help soothe and protect your skin while you shave. The thick and rich formula provides a smooth shave and is gentle on the skin, making it a solid choice for daily use.
Both of these options offer a good price-performance ratio, ensuring you get quality results without breaking the bank.
omg i totally get the sensitive skin struggle! since noone mentioned it yet that Truly Beauty glazed donut whipped shave butter is like a game changer fr… has hyaluronic acid n vitamin E which is amazing for dry skin n its super creamy!! kinda pricy tbh but a lil goes along way n my skin feels WAY less irritated than w regular shaving stuff
also if ur into more natural stuff theres this cool stick called hanni shave pillow w/ adaptogenic mushrooms n cactus water… sounds weird but its rly good for dry shaving when ur in a hurry n dont wanna deal w/ the whole shower routine lol
just make sure ur not allergic to any weird ingredients first tho cuz that wuld defeat the whole purpose amirite
hey dylan, saw you’re already on the aveeno train which is a solid move, but since we’re all sharing our skin secrets here, thought id throw in my two cents. the eos sensitive skin shave cream is pretty awesome sauce, it’s like a lotion and shave cream had a baby, super hydrating with the shea butter and oatmeal. and yeah, what roryrover said about flamingo too, that creamy foam is no joke for keeping the irritation at bay.
also, ryan87’s tip on truly beauty’s shave butter is spot on, that stuff is like dessert for your legs, all smooth and moisturized after. just remember, patch test first like they mentioned, no one wants an allergic reaction to rain on the parade of your smooth skin journey.
oh and vanicream, as jordan74 pointed out, is a steal for what you get, it’s like the swiss army knife of shaving creams, no frills just good old fashioned skin protection without the sting of chemicals.
so yeah, def a few good options on the table, hope you find your holy grail of shaving creams soon! keep us posted on what works for you.
