This makes it unsuitable for carry-on storage when flying in the USA per TSA travel restrictions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can expect a single tube of Proraso shaving cream to last you two months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This shaving cream is made in Italy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cardboard box and metal tube help to preserve the shaving cream.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"font-size: inherit; background-color: initial;\">As stated on the side of the box, this shaving cream can be used as either a hand lather or shaving brush lather.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"proraso-shaving-cream-ingredients\">Proraso Shaving Cream Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Objectively, the Proraso shaving cream has a fairly <em>clean <\/em>label.&nbsp; However, some of the ingredients worth calling out include the cocos nucifera oil (coconut oil) menthol, camphor, and eucalyptus leaf oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s why they matter:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Coconut Oil<\/strong>: Helps to provide natural lubrication to the shaving cream that allows for a smooth and slick surface.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Menthol<\/strong>: Provides a bright and invigorating scent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Camphor<\/strong>: Helps to reduce irritation and has natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties (<a href=\"https:\/\/ncit.nci.nih.gov\/ncitbrowser\/ConceptReport.jsp?dictionary=NCI_Thesaurus&amp;ns=NCI_Thesaurus&amp;code=C72193\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">source<\/a>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eucalyptus Oil<\/strong>: Adds a nice aromatic scent to the shaving cream in tandem with menthol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If some of these ingredients or scents are a turn-off for you, don&#8217;t worry &#8212; Proraso does make a few other varieties of this shaving cream that we will cover later on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"proraso-shaving-cream-lather\">Proraso Shaving Cream Lather<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned previously, the Proraso shaving cream can be lathered with either a hand or brush lather &#8211; both will suffice for most shaves.&nbsp; In the demonstration below, we are going with a brush lather as we think most men are likely going to be using the shaving cream in a traditional wet shaving way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are using a synthetic shave brush that was included in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/review\/maggard-razors-review\/\">Maggard&#8217;s wet shaving starter kit we have recently reviewed<\/a>.&nbsp; It is invigorating, unlike a weighty sandalwood scent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The shave brush still had plenty of shave cream still loaded in the bristles that could work for a few more additional passes if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For slickness, this shave cream was silky smooth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The shave cream didn&#8217;t run dry and provided nice insulation for the duration of the shave.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"shaving-experience\">Shaving Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few important details to know before we go over the shave experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Facial Hair Prep: <\/strong>A shower was taken about an hour before the first pass.&nbsp; Warm to hot water was applied prior to shaving.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pre Shave<\/strong>: Applied a thin coat of the Proraso Pre Shave Cream &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/review\/proraso-pre-shave-cream-review\/\">reviewed here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beard Length<\/strong>: These pictures are from the third pass taken with this shaving cream &#8211; the beard was originally at three days worth of growth.&nbsp; The first two were done for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_qxP4BJB1hI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video that accompanies this review<\/a> if you want to check it out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Razor Type<\/strong>: Using a Merkur 38C &#8211; background-color: initial;\">The shaving cream is <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: inherit; background-color: initial;\">really comfortable<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: inherit; background-color: initial;\"> to work with.&nbsp; The razor blade was three uses old and performed like it was a fresh blade &#8211; no razor burn whatsoever.&nbsp; Really impressed here.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While not pictured above, the shave initially started with three days worth of beard growth (a rather thick stubble) &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/_qxP4BJB1hI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">again this was covered in the video<\/a>.&nbsp; The shaving cream was able to provide enough lubrication for smooth results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There was <strong>no irritation<\/strong> as a result of this shaving cream.&nbsp; As evident in the pictures above, no redness occurred on the often troublesome neck area.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The cushy lather never dissipated or dissolved when on the face for an extended period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The scent dissipates about an hour after you are done shaving.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Bottom Line<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This really is a special shave cream and easy to see why it is one of the best available.&nbsp;
