here&#8217;s how:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"using-the-proraso-pre-shave-cream-with-a-safety-razor\">Using the Proraso Pre-Shave Cream with a Safety Razor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For using this pre-shave cream, I just wanted to share the following key info for you following along at home:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>I have about <strong>2 days worth of stubble<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The razor that I am using to shave is a Merkur 38C safety razor (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/review\/merkur-38c\/\">which is reviewed here<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The shaving cream used is the C.O. Bigelow Premium Shave Cream which is made by Proraso<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The safety razor blades being used are Super Shark blades that were made in Egypt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s begin:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-to-apply-proraso-pre-shave-cream\">How to Apply Proraso Pre-Shave Cream<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For starters, I am going to scoop out a fingertip-sized amount of the pre-shave cream:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-holding-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-fingertip.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62759\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-holding-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-fingertip.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-holding-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-fingertip-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then after rubbing my hands together, the pre-shave cream will melt nicely into a thin coat on my hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once prepped for application, I will begin to work the pre-shave cream onto my face by massaging it deep into the stubble:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-rubbing-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-face.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62760\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-rubbing-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-face.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-rubbing-proraso-pre-shave-cream-on-face-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal here is to work it in evenly and coat all the areas that are to be shaved.&nbsp; As you can see in the picture above, there is a slight white residue that remains on the surface after application which can be helpful in identifying any areas you may have missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"apply-your-favorite-shave-cream-on-top-of-the-proraso-pre-shave-cream\">Apply your Favorite Shave Cream on Top of the Proraso Pre-Shave Cream<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>So after quickly wetting the face with some warm water, I went ahead and began applying shave cream on top of the pre-shave cream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, I am using C.O. Bigelow Shave Cream.&nbsp; It is also known as a Proraso-clone since it is made by Proraso and features an identical scent as the Proraso green label.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: you don&#8217;t have to do anything different here &#8211; just apply your shaving cream as you normally would.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the end, this is how the shave cream application looked:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-with-shaving-cream-on-face-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62762\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-with-shaving-cream-on-face-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-with-shaving-cream-on-face-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, you won&#8217;t visually see any difference whether you are using a pre-shave cream or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing I do want to quickly note is that my face did feel <strong>like it was dunked in cold water<\/strong>.&nbsp; The menthol in the pre-shave cream was really getting to work here and provided a deep invigorating feeling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"shaving-with-a-safety-razor\">Shaving with a Safety Razor<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now to the fun part &#8211; fully testing out the Proraso Pre-Shave Cream with a safety razor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned previously, I will be using a Merkur 38C along with a Shark razor blade:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-with-a-safety-razor-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62761\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-with-a-safety-razor-1.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-with-a-safety-razor-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Here&#8217;s how the skin is looking after a couple of passes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-neck-with-safety-razor-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-62763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-neck-with-safety-razor-2.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/www.toolsofmen.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/man-shaving-neck-with-safety-razor-2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>As you can see above, there are no initial signs of irritation on the skin so far.&nbsp; Due to the inclusion of menthol coupled with the eucalyptus oil &#8211; <strong>expect to have a very invigorating start to your day<\/strong>.&nbsp; I would fully recommend that you pair this pre-shave cream up with a shave cream with similar properties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After rinsing off my face when the first full pass of the razor was completed, <strong>my skin felt incredibly slick and smooth<\/strong>.&nbsp; This pre-shave cream performed exceptionally well after a single pass.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While a shaving cream should be able to stand on its own and provide a comfortable shave, I can confidently say that <strong>this pre-shave cream will enhance the experience<\/strong> and make it measurably more comfortable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>I will be using this for every shave going forward &#8211; it was that good<\/strong>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Bottom Line:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you find that your skin irritates easily and are looking for comfort &#8211; I think you should seriously consider this pre-shave cream.&nbsp; While very invigorating, it did a terrific job at really making for smooth and comfortable results.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"where-to-buy-proraso-pre-shave-cream\">Where to Buy Proraso Pre-Shave Cream?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For this test, I ordered the pre-shave cream directly from Amazon.&nbsp; However, given its popularity, you can easily find this same product at several niche online shave shops such as West Coast Shaving, Maggard, etc.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, you cannot order this directly from the Proraso website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"wrapping-it-all-up\">Wrapping it All Up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/dp\/B0082BYLS6?tag=tom-aawp-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Proraso Pre-Shave Cream<\/a> is a well-made shaving product that you should consider.&nbsp;
