Scotch Porter Review (A New Type Of Men’s Grooming Company)We may earn a commission for purchases using our links. Learn More.
Chances are that if you have a beard, you probably have heard of Scotch Porter.
Based out of East Orange, NJ, Scotch Porter is quickly making their way into men’s hands across the world.
Today we wanted to explore a little deeper about this men’s grooming company and why they are worth considering.
Now before we get into the details, I just wanted to take a moment to say this:
This post has not been sponsored by Scotch Porter in any way.
Scotch Porter did not review this post prior to publication and had absolutely no say in the process of its creation.
Occasionally on Tools of Men we like to showcase companies that you may or may not have been familiar with already, as is the case when we decided to write this post.
Who Is Scotch Porter For?
To put it bluntly, Scotch Porter is for every man who gives a damn on how they look.
While some may bucket their offerings into a category of being only for African American men, this preconceived notion will be sorely misplaced.
As their About Us section states:
Scotch Porter is for the modern day man who wants to look his best at all times.
While we will dive deep into the product selection in just a minute, their reliance on only the best ingredients is refreshing.
Sure, their prices aren’t necessarily the cheapest (especially when compared to some of the bargain brands found on larger online retailers), you at least get something of quality.
Review Of Scotch Porter’s Product Selection
When it comes to men’s grooming companies, you will largely either find a company selling just a few product categories or everything under the sun.
But what Scotch Porter has put together was actually a pretty decent (and comprehensive) line up.
They checked most of the boxes to a grooming routine that you might need – which includes the following:
- Beard conditioner
- Beard serum
- Beard wash
- Beard brush
- Beard balm
- Face wash
- Face scrub
- Face lotion
- Hair wash
- Hair conditioner
- Hair balm
- Shaving cream
- Pre shave oil
While we touched on it just a moment ago, it bears repeating, the ingredient profile of their products is second to none.
Take for instance their Beard Balm, unlike most companies that rely on a staple of jojoba, argan, or sandalwood oils, with Scotch Porter you will find some crazy stuff like marshmallow root, slippery elm bark, nettle leaf, shea butter, coconut oil, aloe vera, agave nectar, silk protein and others!
You see, its stuff like this is why we wanted to dedicate an entire post to them.
They aren’t another men’s grooming company using some cookie cutter product you might find on AliExpress, instead, Scotch Porter’s creativity is really what makes them shine.
Now one of the facets I thought was intriguing was their actual beard care system.
Instead of just applying a beard oil (or in their case serum) and calling it a day, Scotch Porter recommends that you adopt their beard grooming system:
- Get clean with their beard wash
- Apply beard conditioner
- Apply beard balm
- Style the beard
- Apply beard serum
When all the products are incorporated, you will have yourself both a stylish and healthy looking beard.
Does Scotch Porter Offer Any Promo or Discount Codes?
At the time of publication, Scotch Porter was running a great campaign where you could get up to $30 bucks off your entire order (when you spend more than $100) – 30% off is not too shabby:
But beyond this current campaign, they also offer an ongoing referral campaign where you can receive credits on your account for referring one of your friends to Scotch Porter.
You can learn more about the referral campaign by checking out the details here.
So, if you plan on placing an order today, be sure to see if they have any promo codes listed on their site before you check out.
No One Likes To Pay For Shipping Right?
Unlike the recent review we did on Huckberry that required you to drop at least $98 before you get free shipping, Scotch Porter is a fair bit lower (which makes sense given they sell grooming products as opposed to clothes).
In order to get free shipping through Scotch Porter, the order minimum must be at least $50 bucks.
Given that Scotch Porter is based out of New Jersey, for those readers in the northeast, you should be able to get your products within two days.
Lastly, for the international readers, Scotch Porter does ship to you. As per usual, shipping will be quite a bit more and take longer should it get held up in customs.
A Return Policy That’s Customer Centric
Unlike so many other online retailers that either charge you for returns or will simply give you a credit, Scotch Porter offers a pretty lenient return policy.
Not only will you be able to refund or exchange any product you aren’t completely satisfied with, but you also have 60 days from the shipment date.
This gives you the ultimate peace of mind when placing your next order.
Wrapping Up Our Assessment On Scotch Porter
Overall Scotch Porter serves up a compelling offering of men’s grooming products.
Whether you wear a full beard or shave daily, you can find a product within their lineup to not only make you look better, but feel better as well.
If you are getting tired of your existing lineup of grooming products, give Scotch Porter a shot.
Chances are you will be happy you did!
