Groove Belt Overview

First, we want to walk you through a few key details about the Groove Belt.

As you can see, the packaging of the Groove Belt is both minimal and compact.

Materials

On the belt clasp, you can see what the belt is made from:

Groove Belt - Materials, Country of Origin, and Care Instructions

The Groove Belt is made from the following materials:

Webbing: A high tenacity poly blend that is composed of 80% polyester and 20% rubber.

Buckle: A380 aluminum teflon coating, neodymium magnets, and stainless steel screws.

The Groove Belt is made in China.

Buckle

The most distinct feature of the Groove Belt is the buckle.  Relying on a simple hook and magnetic closure, the belt is easy to take both on and off.

What’s unique about this closure is that while the hooks can easily slide both on and off, the neodymium magnets help to secure the two pieces together.  Therefore, you will never have to worry about it sliding off or coming undone accidentally.

Sizing

Finding the appropriate size is easy.  Per the packaging, simply match your pant size to their small, medium, large, or x-large offering:

As you can see above, the keeper loop helps to hide away the tail of the belt.

When worn with a plaid shirt, the walnut brown Groove Belt does look nice for casual wear:

Sitting Down

When reviewing any belt, comfort is important.  Whether you are sitting down, walking, or bending over, a belt shouldn’t dig into your side nor slide down.

With a hybrid nylon and rubber material, the Groove Belt has some stretch.  Here are a few pictures of how the belt looks when sitting down:

As you can see in the pictures above, the Groove Belt doesn’t fold or dig in on the sides.  The belt is effective at keeping the pants close to your body so an embarrassing “plumber’s crack” won’t be exposed.

The addition of rubber into the belt provides stretch, thus greatly increasing overall comfort.

Overall Rating

When wearing the Groove Belt for a few days and during a variety of activities such as walking, ice skating, and sitting on the couch – it never felt uncomfortable or required readjustment.

The ability to fine-tune the belt allows for a better fit than any other standard belt.  This is especially nice should your body weight often fluctuate.

One nice feature is the ease with which you take the belt on and off.  This is especially apparent when taking a trip to the bathroom.  Unlike a pin belt buckle, the Groove Belt allows you to effortlessly access your fly.

While the belt has a minimalist design, the textured webbing makes it intended for casual or outdoor use only.

Final Thoughts

Overall, the Groove Belt should be considered.  The added stretch in the webbing allows the belt to bend seamlessly with your body.  There is no digging in on the sides, nor will your pants ever sag.  The neodymium magnets allow you to quickly take the belt on and off.  The belt is well-made and built to last.
